Evening Preview Analysis

Tomorrow shapes up as a classic E-direction Small Craft Advisory day. The pattern weโ€™ve seen all week continues โ€” solid open-water wind but challenging near-shore access due to wind shadow from shoreline trees.

iK-TRRM shows the session building from marginal 12kts at 11am to solid 17-18kts by mid-afternoon. The improving cloud forecast (dropping from 63% to 20%) suggests some thermal assistance will develop, particularly after 1pm. Peak window looks to be 2-4pm with 17kts steady and manageable 24kt gusts.

The E-to-ENE direction (75-82ยฐ) means expect the familiar launch challenge โ€” plan for 300m body drag to reach the wind line. Once past the shadow zone, conditions should be excellent. Epic-rated ENE windswell at 6.6ft @ 9s will provide perfect downwind bumps.

Equipment sized for 24kt gusts: 3.4m kite with 24m lines. HA780 front wing for the steady 15-17kt baseline. Low tide during the early session mandates 72cm mast to protect against reef strikes.
